Career Chat Room: a Meaningful Tradition of Hall 9
By: LIU Yanghe, Hera (Sir Gordon and Lady Ivy Wu Hall)
The Career Chat Room has been successfully held by Sir Gordon and Lady Ivy Wu Hall (Hall 9) last Saturday. With the aim of helping non-local students to work in Hong Kong, this activity is one of the most popular annual events at the Student Residence.
At around 7:30 pm, there were already a large number of non-local residents gathering at Multi-function Hall C, waiting for the career workshop expectantly. Hall 9 invited four non-local alumni from different backgrounds who are currently working in Hong Kong to share their experiences with residents. To start with, the alumni introduced themselves, their positions and their job-hunting experiences. Their brilliant capabilities and optimistic attitude fired up the audiences. Their talking focused on what should non-local prepare for job-hunting, languages used at the workplace and non-locals working advantages. Each of the audience had a rewarding time in the career chat room and the whole event was both enjoyable and productive.
