[What’s For Your Dinner Tonight?]
By: Riddhi SUKHIA (Jockey Club Academy Hall)
If you’re new to the CityU Student Residence you must be probably wondering about what the food situation is for the rest of us. Is there any hope besides cup noodles? Don’t worry though, all around the campus there are many places to hang out with friends and try some different types of food.
Besides the obvious canteens, restaurants, and cafes we have on our campus, you should also familiarize yourself to the residence canteen, called Homey Kitchen. Besides being open for longer hours than any other canteen and inexpensive food (that isn’t too fancy, but fills the stomach), it also sells snacks, ice creams, drinks, and other foods that you can stock up in your room. Few daily necessities are also available. If you’re looking for some change, Nam Shan Estate is a near-by option for reasonable local dishes and fresh ingredients like fruits and vegetables. And if you’re looking for even more variety, then there are always plenty of options at Festival Walk. Besides the McDonald’s at the food court, there are many cuisines available to try out, like Japanese or Korean. All over the mall, there are other restaurants to check out too, if you have a decent budget, of course.
The best option would definitely be to cook up something delicious in your common room, but who has the time for that, right?
So the next time you’re looking for a quick meal, look past the instant noodles and consider the numerous options you have to enjoy a delicious meal.
