[Every person’s Nightmare: Making choices]
By: Revanth BANALA NITHYANANDAM (Hall 10)
Making choices is an inevitable part of our mundane lives. With every passing day, we have hundreds of choices that ought to be made, choices that can change our lives, choices that can intend sacrifice or choices that can be beneficial! We are often caught in a dilemma while making choices, be it a choosing our favorite meal of the day or a choice of buying one pair of shoes from a store! Often observed, decision making isn’t that easy. As in “The Road not Taken”, poet Robert Frost says:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
This indicates the everlasting effects of decisions we make in life. Some strive for adventure in lives while some choose the easy path ahead of them. All that matters is if we are contented in the long run.
One such major decision making all of us have overcome is the decision of studying at a university. It’s been a tough choice evaluating the various benefits thrown by the universities. More over being an international student, studying at a foreign university like CityU has been one of my life changing decisions, but has been the best decision ever that has kept me contented. So the next time you face the dilemma of making tough choices, just evaluate the pros and cons of the consequences and make the right choice! At the end of the day, it’s just you and the everlasting impact of the choices you’ve made in life!
